US CENSUS REPORT, VOTER REGISTRATION, & WHY YOU GET NO AIRPLAY ON RADIO....DAVE HOUSE OUTLAW

Remember when it was time to fill out the census report and people in the Urban Communities would say "I ain't filling this out, why do I want anyone to know where or who I am" or before our President Barack Obama took office most in the Urban community did not see the importance of voting. NOW, in 2009 that "Why Should I" attitude is BITING the Urban Community in the ASS. Peep Game.....

Major Advertisers use the US Census alongside tallying up registered voters to determine demographics in each community. This is how companies determine how they will advertise in markets and what channels of promotions they will adhere too, which if promoting to the 18-24 demographic, terrestrial radio is probably the most convenient avenue. So when the Weed Smoker and the Corner Crate Procrastinator decided "not to register to vote" or "not be traced" the dumb fuck didn't realize they were helping with the downfall of Hip Hop by first being counted out in the Hip Hop community. Turning "the Hood" into a haven where only the HIspanic female aged 18-24 spend dollars, the Urban Communities have been substituted with one genre of the Urban Community and made that genre the WHOLE community. Markets like Flint, Michigan is a perfect example of this paradox. An area that has a big urban Community and in contrast has a CHR station (WRCL) as the sole provider or music in the market. So how can a local rapper from Flint, MI get his record played on that Rhythmic Station leaning Top 40 that doesn't have Mixshow. There are Urban Communities all along the New England Coastline (Boston, Providence, Albany, Hartford, & along the Long Island Sound) but only one urban station in New York with Power 105? Meaning there are no Urban Communities from Philadelphia going North East with the exception of Power 105 ??? You mean to tell me there are NOOO Hoods with Bodegas from Camden to Boston, Brooklyn to Hartford, Providence to Poughkeepsie?

In Corporate Eyes, Hip Hop Communities are made up of Hispanic females aged 18 -24. They are the ones spending the money and leading the guys into spending the money. Corporate Joe from Proctor & Gamble with the George Jefferson Hairline says this while stamping APPROVED on a Rhythmic Radio Stations Time Buy Request: "Yes there is an Urban Community but they don't count, they aren't filling out the census, nor are they voting, so how can we as a company put down that they are there?" Radio wants advertising dollars so they are going to cater their format to what will attract the money spenders. Record labels are releasing music based on what will "research" faster and their target demo is the hispanic female aged 18-24. Where does this leave the Rapper that actually has skills and vivid wordplay, where does this leave a T-Rex or a Murda Mook (New York Battle MCs)??

How does the Census & Voting go hand in hand with the music industry? Just listen to your local radio station and look in your community? Does your radio station really play the sound of what your community represents? Is your Urban station sounding a lot more like Top 40 stations about to play Brittney? How many local artist are being played and supported on your radio station since the purpose of Radio is to dictate what the community is saying and how they are living. Now Advertisers, Radio Consultants, & Record Labels have dictated what you will hear and BASE their analogy on proven numbers.

Hip Hop is not the hood in Corporate World, Hip Hop is the Hispanic female aged 18-24. Word to all the real geez in the projects holding down a Cipher, Salute.........

ART ENSEMBLE OF CHICAGO - PEOPLE IN SORROW

Like the other Art Ensemble record on Nessa, Les Stances A Sophie, this one was recorded in France on the beautiful July 7, 1969 during one of the most fruitful periods for the group.

Unlike that one, though, this one is a very different recording musically.
The LP features one long track, the title cut, and the music is very spare, with lots of nice isolated bass work, horn solos, and percussion.

The group here is a quartet

ART ENSEMBLE OF CHICAGO - REESE & THE SMOOTH ONES

artful work from the Art Ensemble of Chicago, and one of their undisputed classics!

The record features some of the most perfectly realized moments the band ever cut to wax,
with a blend of whimsical multi-instrumental improvisation, and a strong sense of the spiritual tradition in jazz.
The album features one long piece -- "Reese & The Smooth Ones" -- and it's a stunning array of spontanteous instrumentation, with a jagged sound that never stops reinventing itself!

JACK MCDUFF - THE FOURTH DIMENSION

JACK MCDUFF
THE FOURTH DIMENSION

Once again a Jack Mcduff album that feels like a CTI records release.

Pee Wee Ellis on soprano & tenor saxophones & flute
Joe Newman trumpet
&
Joe Beck on guitar
