sara john Black Eyed Peas tour

2010 definitely has a kicking start for The Black Eyed Peas. Not only are they in the beginning of a new tour but they also won three Grammys (among their many nominations)– for Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals ("I Gotta Feeling"); Best Pop Vocal Album (The E.N.D.); and Best Short Form Music Video ("Boom Boom Pow").
“Boom Boom Pow” unfortunately brings rather mixed feelings for the band after hip-hop star Phoenix Phenom and her associate Manfred Mohr filed a copyright infri… Continue

RICO DREAM BIG

Success happens when U stop talking & start doing. Achievement happens when U stop promising & U start acting. Instead of making elaborate plans, take small effective steps. Instead of striving 2 convince others of what you're going 2 do, attract their attention by what you've already done. Put UR energy not into appearing impressive, but into getting results. For they are what will make an undeniable impression. Continue

ART ENSEMBLE OF CHICAGO - PEOPLE IN SORROW

Like the other Art Ensemble record on Nessa, Les Stances A Sophie, this one was recorded in France on the beautiful July 7, 1969 during one of the most fruitful periods for the group.

Unlike that one, though, this one is a very different recording musically.
The LP features one long track, the title cut, and the music is very spare, with lots of nice isolated bass work, horn solos, and percussion.

The group here is a quartet

ART ENSEMBLE OF CHICAGO - REESE & THE SMOOTH ONES

artful work from the Art Ensemble of Chicago, and one of their undisputed classics!

The record features some of the most perfectly realized moments the band ever cut to wax,
with a blend of whimsical multi-instrumental improvisation, and a strong sense of the spiritual tradition in jazz.
The album features one long piece -- "Reese & The Smooth Ones" -- and it's a stunning array of spontanteous instrumentation, with a jagged sound that never stops reinventing itself!

JACK MCDUFF - THE FOURTH DIMENSION

JACK MCDUFF
THE FOURTH DIMENSION

Once again a Jack Mcduff album that feels like a CTI records release.
maybe because of the personell on the date..
Harold Vick on tenor saxophone
Joe Farrell on tenor saxophone, flute
Pee Wee Ellis on soprano & tenor saxophones & flute
Joe Newman trumpet
&
Joe Beck on guitar
